About the JPG to PNG
PNG is a lossless format, so converting a JPG to PNG preserves exactly the pixels that are in the JPG. What it cannot do is recover anything JPEG already discarded — the compression artefacts around edges and in flat areas are baked into the image, and they will be faithfully preserved rather than removed.
That is worth being clear about, because the commonest reason people make this conversion is a hope that it improves quality. It does not. What it does give you is a file that will not degrade further no matter how many times it is edited and resaved, which is genuinely useful if the image is going into a workflow with several rounds of editing.
The other real reason is compatibility. Some tools, print workflows and design applications expect PNG, and some upload forms accept nothing else. A conversion takes a second here and needs no software installed.
Expect the file to get considerably larger. PNG compresses losslessly, which works well for flat colour and text and poorly for photographs — a photo saved as PNG is routinely three to five times the size of the JPG. If size matters more than the format, the image compressor is the tool you want instead.
Everything runs in your browser using a canvas, so your images are never uploaded and there is no queue or file limit imposed by a server.
How to use the JPG to PNG
Add your JPG files
Drag them onto the page or browse. Several at once is fine and each is converted separately.
Wait a moment
Conversion happens immediately on your device — there is no upload, so even large images finish quickly.
Check the size change
Each file shows its before and after size. PNG is larger for photographs, and the tool says so rather than hiding it.
Download
Download each PNG individually or all of them at once. Your original files are untouched.
